Newport, Maine’s Cooper Flagg Has A Cool New TV Commercial
The pride of Newport, Maine has hit the big time!
While watching the Boston Celitcs game last night, I came across a New Balance TV commerical that I had not seen before, featuring the one and only, Cooper Flagg, alongside other hoop stars, such as Kawhi Leonard, Tyrese Maxey, and Cameron Brink.
You may remember that Flagg signed a lucrative shoe endorsement deal with the brand, back in August of 2024.
It makes perfect sense that he would choose New Balance, because it has ties to home, including a Skowhegan, Maine, manufacturing factory that is 25 miles from his childhood home in Newport.
As we approach the start of March Madness, all eyes are on Cooper, since he has missed the last two games for Duke, with an apparent left ankle injury that he sustained in the ACC quarterfinals vs. Georgia Tech.
The good news, is that he is expected tp play, when Duke opens their 2025 NCAA Tournament run, this Friday, against the winner of No. 16 seeds American and Mount St. Mary's
For the 15th time in Duke history, they are the #1 seed in the men's March Madness NCAA Tournament. They are heavily favored to make it all the way to the end. A healthy Flagg will go a long way towards making that happen.
Cooper Flagg has been arguably the best college basketball player in the country at just 18, and unless something truly bizzare happens, he will be the #1 pick in the NBA Draft in June.
His Freshman stats speak for themselves:
PTS
18.9
REB
7.5
AST
4.1
FG%
48.8
Best of luck to Cooper and Duke! All of Maine will be cheering you on!
