Beat the summer heat and cool off this Sunday!

Food trucks have existed since as early as the 1930s, but they gained their true popularity in more recent decades, after the 2008 recession. At any given time, there are a multitude of trucks out on the streets in the Bangor area, and beyond.

My dream is to host a reality show, where I travel the country, trying out the best food trucks in every state.

Unfortunately, Netflix won't return my calls.

There are plenty of options for burgers, taco, pizza, etc.. but what about cool treats?

This Sunday, from 11am-4pm, check out the grand opening of Sawyer's Hawaiian Shave Ice, located at 1205 Broadway in Bangor.

Join them for a fun-filled day, as they bring the aloha spirit to Bangor, with authentic Hawaiian shave ice.

Whether you're flying solo, or with friends, stop by, because they have something for everyone.

The first 50 people in line will get a FREE lei and 10% off their order!

Check out their website to see all the delicious flavors on the menu!

Owners Andrew and Julianne Sawyer, are a husband-and-wife duo, who took a bold leap and moved to Maui, Hawaii during the height of the pandemic.

They fell in love with the laid-back 'aloha' lifestyle and became obsessed with the island's iconic shave ice.

They eventually headed back to their roots here in Bangor, with a mission to bring authentic hawaiian shave ice to their hometown.

If you're in Bangor this summer, and craving a little island vibe, swing by the food truck trailer for a taste of the real deal.

Don't miss the Grand Opening, this Sunday, from 11am-4pm, at 1205 Broadway in Bangor.
