Maine Woman Loses 1 Of 2 World Records For ‘Largest Mouth Gape’

Sam Ramsdell is originally from Scarborough, but ended up moving to the New York City, to pursue her career as a singer, songwriter, and comedian.

Sam also has a really big mouth, so big in fact, that she was a Guinness World Records title holder, for "World's Largest Mouth Gape", capturing the record for women, with a mouth that stretches at a whopping 2.56 inches. She claimed the honor, back in 2021.

But the news broke this week, that she has been dethroned!

An Alaska woman named Marie Pearl Zellmer Robinson, (which is a name a big as her mouth) was measured by a dentist and ended up breaking Samantha's record with her 2.98-inch gape.

Samantha still holds the record for her mouths width (yes, there are two records for this!) but Marie is the champ for her mouths height.

Robinson always knew she had a big mouth, and it was something she showed off more as a kid, claiming it "creeped people out", but she is excited to hold the new world record.

As for Samantha Ramsdell, she is a TikTok star, with an incredibly big mouth, but a big personality, and big social media following, with 3.8 million fans.

Back in 2022, she tried the self-proclaimed "World's Largest Lobster Roll" at Taste of Maine Restaurant

Now in their 47th year, this legendary restaurant has been serving up delicious seafood since 1978. They have a few claims to fame, one being a giant inflatable lobster that sits on top of the roof, and covers about 75% of it, and the other is their claim that they serve "The World’s Largest Lobster Roll."

Congrats to Marie Pearl Zellmer Robinson, on breaking the reocrd, but since Samantha is a Mainer, we love her!
