Maine’s Best Kept Secret: Wild Blueberry Land Is About To Open
One of Maine’s most Instagram-worthy roadside stops is getting ready to open for the season.
Have you heard of this hidden gem tucked away in Columbia Falls? If not, it might be time to add it to your summer road trip list—because a visit here pretty much guarantees a “berry nice day.”
As summer approaches, there’s no shortage of things to see and do across Maine. But few spots are quite as unique, or as eye-catching, as Wild Blueberry Land.
Sitting at the corner of Routes 1 and 187 in Columbia Falls, the iconic blueberry-blue domed shop is hard to miss. Part food stop, part gift shop, and entirely one-of-a-kind, it’s become a must-visit for tourists year after year.
Wild Blueberry Land officially opens for the 2026 season on Wednesday, June 24. After that, you can stop by Thursday through Monday from 10am to 3pm.

Whether you’re browsing inside or snapping photos outside, there’s plenty to explore. Play a round on the outdoor mini-golf course, then head in to shop a wide range of blueberry treats—from butter and syrup to scones, honey, vinegar, and pancake mixes.
And it’s not just a quirky stop, it’s a fitting one. Maine produces about 99% of the country’s wild blueberries, making it the largest producer in the U.S.
While you’re there, don’t miss the Wild Blueberry Heritage Center, and be sure to bring your camera—this spot has become a favorite for TikTok creators and selfie lovers alike.
