You can't come to Maine and not have Moxie, and baked beans...yessah!

Troy and Mark consider themselves to be the ultimate Maine Tourism Guides, bub, They know everything about the Pine Tree State, and have a Facebook page and YouTube channel devoted to getting you acquainted with what make us Mainers tick!

It turns out that Tory and Mark are actually comedians, James Theberge and Ian Stuart. You can see them perform on The Maine Comedy All-Stars shows.

They are on a self proclaimed "2020 Welcome To Maine Tour". In this episode, they visit the Moxie Store in Lisbon Falls, to investigate the unusual and polarizing taste of Maine's most famous soft drink. It's all done with a healthy dose of 207 accents and humor of course.

If you need a refresher, Moxie, is a soda that is among the first mass-produced soft drinks in the United States. It was created around 1876 by Augustin Thompson, who hailed from Union, Maine, as a patent medicine called "Moxie Nerve Food" Moxie's flavor is unique to say the least, it's also an acquired one. A sweet drink with a bitter aftertaste(to put it midly) Moxie is flavored with gentian root extract, an extremely bitter substance commonly used in herbal medicine. Moxie was designated the official soft drink of Maine on May 10, 2005. There is even a yearly festival, that was postponed this year due to COVID-19 concerns.

In another episode, they check out the legendary B&M Baked Bean Factory, in Portland, and as you can imagine, there are at least a couple of fart jokes thrown in for good measure.
