Often enough, news like this involving missing children does not end well. However, this story has a happy ending. Maine State Police Trooper Zachary Fancy and his K9 partner, Dutch, successfully tracked and found a little girl who got lost in the thick woods in Lyman on Monday, September 21st, 2020, according to the police department's Facebook page, where they shared a picture of the dog sitting in front of a cruiser (below). The unidentified girl, who is in kindergarten, reportedly wandered off during recess at school.

Dutch was given the kid's jacket to smell, and from that, he was able to locate her deep in the woods, as per the police. They say he found her "sitting on a rock, with no shoes, crying." We're sure her parents were overjoyed and relieved to be reunited with their precious child.
