They recently ranked the most festive states in the U.S. to celebrate Halloween, Maine crushed it, coming in 2nd place.

When it comes to celebrating all things spooky, we do it up right here in the Pine Tree State.

Stephen King's House in Bangor, the Maine Pumpkin Festival, The Farmington Fright Fest, Haunted Hayrides of Southern Maine, and the Fort Knox Fright Fest, are just a few of the things that make Maine unique during the Halloween season.

You can also add rural landscapes, picture perfect fall foliage, local folklore, apple picking, pumpkin picking, haunted houses, trunk-or-treating, seasonal brews, and a genuine sense of community spirit as well!

Who topped the list? Our friends in New Hampshire. Oddly enough, Massachusetts was nowhere to be found in the Top 10

The states at the bottom of the survey, are Washington, California, and Mississippi, where apparently Halloween is a real drag.
