Maine Ranks As One of the Top 10 Least Rude States In the U.S.
One of the greatest charms of Maine is the pleasantness of its people. We open doors for one another, we pay it forward when we can and if someone is down-and-out, we want to help them get through it.
One recent list compiled many areas of rudeness to show the nation Maine's pleasantness isn't a façade. It's our culture.
Taking a look at a list created by Zippia.com, Maine has come out as one of the most polite states in the United States.
The list takes in to account many factors. First, they analyzed rude drivers of each state from data regarding driving violations, such as yielding violations, failure to stop violations, prohibited passing, tailgating, hit and runs drivers' records and hit and run violations). Next, they took a look at average tipping for each state. Also taken into consideration profanity taken from a survey about how each state ranks with profanity used for customer service representatives. And, lastly, taken into consideration is how other states view the rudeness of each state.
The states that proved most rude included Virginia at number three, New England's most populated state, Massachusetts, at number 2 and, at the top spot, the most rude state in the nation was found to be Rhode Island. Who woulda thunk?
