What says summer is coming more than the annual Lobster Boat Races? People from all around the state follow the Maine Lobster Boat Racing Association as it travels up and down the coast. These races always draw a crowd, and captains continue to create bigger and bigger raft-ups each year. The yearly circuit kicks off in Boothbay Harbor and wraps up in Portland.
Come be part of one of Maine’s most unique and entertaining traditions! Lobster boats race bow-to-bow for points, cash, and prizes in these exciting and highly competitive events.
All races have registration from 8–9 a.m., with races beginning at 10 a.m. The exception is the Long Island race, which has registration from 10–11 a.m. and races beginning at noon.
Not all races allow shoreside spectators, so be sure to check the Fans of Maine Lobster Boat Racing Facebook page for the latest information.
