Finally, we can enjoy local, talented people playing great live music again. Check out these upcoming shows.

One of the things I missed the most during the lengthy run of the pandemic, was not being able to go out and enjoy live music. Whether it was a concert on the Bangor Waterfront, or heading out to a local watering hole to enjoy seeing local musicians do their thing, I really felt that absence in my life.

Just think, it has been 15 months since you could grab your friends and hit a pub, or bar, to check out talented people performing. News flash, everything has changed, and live music is back in full force here in the Bangor area.

The Penobscot Pour House, and Carolina's Sports & Spirits, both located in Bangor, and High Tide in Brewer, are just a few of the establishments in the area that are once again showcasing fantastic local musicians. This is extra special to me, because I have several friends who play music on the side, and let me tell you, they have been chomping at the bit to get back out there and play live again.

In the coming days, you can see the following artists doing their thing:

Carolina's
June 17-River Bottom Funk
June 18-Altar Boys
June 19-Rotating Taps
June 21-Stesha Cano

High Tide
June 18-Dakoustic
June 19-River Bottom Funk

Penobscot Pour House
June 18-AJ&CJ
June 19-Riff Johnson
June 25-Dakota
June 26-Dakota

In particular, I wanted to mention Riff's show this weekend at Penobscot Pour House, because he is planning to move away from Maine in the coming months, and we will miss him, because he has been a great friend of the Z Morning Show over the years. He has played for us in the studio many times, and does great things for the community with his "12 Days of Riffmas" that benefitted the Bangor Area Recovery Network.

So get out there, grab your friends, dance, sing, and enjoy the absolute pleasure of live & local music.

You know you're from Bangor when ...
