Welcome back home, Louisa!

Over the years I have known so many people who could not wait to finish school and leave the state of Maine, or people who simply wanted a change of pace and lifestyle, and took off looking for greener pastures, only to return home. In fact, I was one of them, but sometimes home is where the heart is, and I stumbled upon a beautiful song about wanting to come back for good.

A YouTube Channel named "Documentary Songwriters" uploaded a song from a woman who resides in Franklin, Massachusetts, that tells the story of why she is headed back to the 207.

"Moving Back To Maine" is a beautiful song performed by Louisa Stancioff, with some co-writing help from Mimi Bornstein, Amara Sperber, and Malcolm Brooks, that is all about why she wants to come back to where she grew up.

Here are the lyrics to this lovely song that she plays on acoustic guitar.

I am moving back to Maine
After several years away
Finally packing up
I’m coming home
I am moving for me
And not somebody else
I’m leaning into the warmth and known

Oh, I knew it wouldn’t be easy
But it shouldn’t be this hard
I feel lost and lonely
But I want to grow
I am moving for me
And not somebody else
I’m leaning into the warmth and known

Not only is this a great song, but Louisa is a super talented singer/songwriter.
