Lil Wayne, is one of the most influential rappers of the 2000s and beyond. He grew up in New Orleans and started rapping at a young age, eventually joining the group Hot Boys before building a massive solo career.
What makes him stand out, is how creative and relentless he was, constantly releasing music, especially mixtapes, and showing off a style packed with clever, weird, and unpredictable flows.
He hit it big, in 2008, with the album "Tha Carter III", which became one of the biggest rap releases the era. It included hits like "Lollipop and "A Milli" and helped cement Wayne as a superstar.
Beyond the commercial success, his influence on the genre is massive! His off-the-wall wordplay, melodic style, and fearless experimentation inspired a whole generation of rappers who came after him.
2 Chainz started out in Atlanta as part of Playaz Circle, but he really made his name as a solo artist. He’s dropped several hit albums and is known for catchy songs and clever lyrics. Along the way, he’s collaborated with tons of big artists and even branched into TV and business projects.
Tickets go on sale, this Friday, Friday, March 20th at 10am, at the Waterfront Concerts website
