Kesha Announces Portland Show
Kesha is making a return trip to Maine late this summer.
It's going to be a glittery good time. Kesha will return to Maine in September. The "Tik Tok" singer will perform at the State Theatre in Portland, September 4. Tickets go on-sale Friday, June 25. Betty Who will open the show.
Kesha has performed in Maine on a couple of occasions. Most recently, she performed at Colby College’s Alfond Athletic Center Field House in Waterville back in 2016. She played a show on the Bangor Waterfront back in 2013.
Portland venues, the State Theatre and Thompson's Point, have been aggressively booking new shows for the upcoming outdoor concert season into the fall.
Some Road Trip Worthy shows include:
- Jason Mraz - Thompson's Point - August 24
- 311 - Thompson's Point - August 26
- Melissa Etheridge - State Theatre - August 31
- Dirty Heads & Sublime with Rome - State Theatre - September 21
- Dashboard Confessional - State Theatre - September 30
Here in Bangor, concerts are supposedly returning this summer. Back in May, Alex Gray of Waterfront Concerts told WABI they will go forward with their schedule of concerts that were pushed from 2020 to this summer. The schedule, so far, includes Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett and KISS. It will take about a week to get the venue ready for shows.
Gray told WABI the uncertainty of summer concerts cost the venue some shows back in the fall. "We’ve had shows pass on us in September and October of this year that are 2021 shows, not 2020 carryovers,” said Gray. The hope is to book a few new shows, pushing them into late summer and early fall.
