I never get tired of watching videos of bad drivers. Ever since the dashcam was invented, drivers can record videos automatically if they get in an accident or witness one. Video can come in handy for police when trying to reconstruct what happened and who is at fault.

One person driving on what appears to be the Maine Turnpike took a risk by putting their foot up on the dashboard.

A video was submitted by a driver who witnessed a car in the left lane nearly lose control when trying to move from the left lane to the middle lane. The video was submitted to DashCam Nation, a popular YouTube channel that takes submissions of traffic accidents and bad drivers caught on camera..

That car had someone in the passenger seat with their bare foot up on the dash. This is a recipe for disaster. You may think it's comfortable until you get into an accident,  destroy your leg, and get severely injured.

Car Almost Loses Control

The video shows the car with the passenger's foot on the dash suddenly start to move into the dashcammer's lane, apparently without checking their blind spot. The car quickly swerved back into the left lane, and no one was injured.

They got lucky. If they were travelling at 70 mph and got into an accident, the person with their foot on the dash might have lost it forever or been even more severely injured.

This is good advice for everyone. You are safest in a car when you have your seatbelt on and your feet on the floor. If you get in an accident and the airbag goes off, your legs won't be able to handle the force of the airbag inflating. It happens in the blink of an eye, and if your legs are there, there's a good chance they will never be the same, if you still have them.
