Beer, Cars & Pie: Piscataquis River Festival Celebrates 20 Years
Some of Maine's best parts of summer are the many festivals and fairs folks have across the state.
A lot of work goes into organizing these community events, and many of them have been taking place for decades.
In the Piscataquis County town of Guilford, the Piscataquis River Festival is getting ready to celebrate its 20th Anniversary on Saturday, July 27th, at the Guilford Athletic Fields, with a day full of family fun and food!
If you check out the Piscataquis River Festival website, you'll see the day is scheduled to start with a 5K Fitness and Fun Run and a River Festival Website.
At 10 AM, people will be treated to a parade through town.
"The River Festival Parade rolls through town! Leaving the boat launch on the north end of Route 15 at 10 AM, the parade will travel through town and past the festival grounds."
The Vendor Fair, Food Court, and Beer Garden will be taking place all day on the field, with opportunities for festival-goers to take in demonstrations and live music all afternoon.
"Local favorite DJ Bobby Hartford will keep us informed while he plays music and emcees the day's events. Join in on some fun games in front of the stage! Live Music by the Fossils. The Fossils take to the stage and play a cool 70’s vibe."
Along with a car show and a free throw competition, kids will be able to take part in a pie-eating competition, as well.
The festival is set to wrap up with a fireworks display at 9 PM.
