Two Maine Troopers were allegedly attacked while breaking up an alleged domestic dispute.

The Limerick Altercation Began as a Domestic Violence Call.

Justin Savage, 41, and Shawna Morse, 26, both of Limerick are facing charges after an incident that began at approximately 10:50 Saturday night. Maine State Troopers were called to Long Street in Limerick for a report that Savage had allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Morse, in front of their home.

Two Maine Troopers Were Hurt in an Altercation With Suspects in Limerick.

During the investigation, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says Mr. Savage allegedly became combative with the Troopers and a struggle ensued. During that scuffle, Savage allegedly landed on Sergeant Adam Schmidt and broke his ankle. While continuing his attempts to escape custody, Savage allegedly bit Trooper Jamie Fenderson, causing two lacerations on his hand. During that altercation, Ms. Morse allegedly tried to assist Savage.

The two Troopers were transported to the hospital where Fenderson was treated and released. Sergeant Schmidt will require surgery on his broken ankle.

Suspects Accused in the Limerick Altercation with Troopers Face Multiple Charges.

Both Savage and Morse were transported to the York County Jail. Savage was charged with domestic violence assault, assault on a Police officer, refusing to submit to arrest, and disorderly conduct. Morse is charged with obstructing government administration and refusal to submit to arrest.
