It’s Tourney Week, So Here Comes Some ‘Boobar 2 Boobar’!

It’s Tourney Time again in Bangor, so you knew this was coming!

The Eastern Maine High School Basketball tournament is back, and the Cross Insurance Center will be rocking, as the action is well underway.

School vacation week is here, and people from all over the state of Maine will be heading to Bangor, to enjoy exciting basketball, and support their school and community. It is a tradition that people continue to enjoy, year after year.

I want to say the year was 2007, but I could be wrong. One morning we made a morning show bit out of an impression I have been doing for years on the air. I didn't think much of it, we were just riffing, joking around and having a good time. Well, come to find out that after we replayed it a few times (the first of about a million and counting) that people really responded to it, and have been ever since.

Everywhere I go, Z listeners come up to me and say the now classic lines from it "Darlene Boobar over to Misty Bickford"..."Boobar for the win!" In fact, someone once yelled it at me in a moving car. I have no idea why it has caught on the way it did. Honestly, the feedback has been about 99% positive, minus one complaint letter a few years back and for the record, the whole thing is done with a wink and smile.

In 2015, we even had T-shirts made!
