If you're one of the brave souls who try to navigate Maine roads in the winter without snow tires, you may no longer have the option to do that. According to WGME, there's a new bill being presented that would require all vehicles to be equipped with snow tires or all weather tires for seven months out of the year. Representative David McCrea (D) is sponsoring the bill, creatively called "An Act to Require Snow Tires or All-weather Tires on Automobiles from October through April."

Ok, time for me to fess up. I'm one of those brave souls! That's right, I don't switch over to snow tires in the winter. I don't feel like I need them. I live about a mile from work, so I can get by most of the time with my regular tires. I don't want to jinx myself by saying this, but I haven't had a problem yet. So I'm not too thrilled with the prospect of having to shell out hundreds of dollars for something I really don't need! I'm not too worried though...I have a feeling that most Mainers won't go for this. Do you think this should be law? Weigh in with a comment on the Facebook post!
