Hurricane Dorian To Bring Strong Winds + Heavy Rain To Maine This Week

Hurricane Dorian is expected to reach Maine late this week.

The National Weather Service is forecasting gusty winds and heavy rain for Downeast Maine late this week. Hurricane Dorian is forecast to track just offshore of coastal Maine. WABI reports Dorian is expected to be a category 1 hurricane as is grazes Maine Friday night into Saturday morning.

The close brush from Dorian will keep much of the storm offshore. Still, Downeast and coastal areas may see heavy rain and strong, gusty winds.

The storm is expected to continue to weaken as it continues northward into Eastern Nova Scotia.
