Surf height is expected to be 4 feet to 7 feet but locally lower east of Roque Bluffs State Park. The waves are a result of a long period of southeasterly swells. This advisory pertains to Acadia National Park, Schoodic Point, Lamoine State Park, Castine, Machias, and Eastport.

The National Weather Service cautions that large waves can present a danger to people on rocks above the water. Stay away from rock outcrops along the shoreline exposed to ocean waves, as waves can easily sweep people into the cold ocean water.

If you are headed to Acadia National Park, please follow the directions of rangers and avoid areas that are closed out of an abundance of safety.
