‘Hathaway Holiday Lights’ Sets Date In December For Show Opening
While the weekend weather is set to be sunny and warm, we know that snow is never far away, once we cross the threshold into November.
And as folks tuck those Halloween decorations away until next season, many have already started to game-plan holiday light designs for the winter months.
You can count the Hathaway family among those who are prepping for the Holiday lights season in a big way.
Known for their massive lights display to benefit the Northern Light NICU, Rick Hathaway of the Hathaway Holiday Lights recently posted on their Facebook page that they were starting their preparations this week, in hopes to be open by mid-December.
"Things are starting to ramp up in preparing for set up day. New props have been built and tested and all existing props have been tested and repaired. In the back ground we have also been working on some exciting news. For now just mark your calendars for December 16th with more to come in the next couple weeks."
The Hathaway Holiday Lights Display outgrew its Bangor digs a few years back and recently moved to the front lawn of the Veazie Community School. Hathaway mentioned that his goal for this year is to have 100,000 lights. With the addition of this year's new props, he says that's brought him a little over his goal.
The opening date for the Hathaway Holiday Lights display will be Friday, December 16th.
And while each year, it is free to view the display, there is usually a stocking or box on location for donations that the family collects for the Northern Light Eastern Maine NICU.
