Celebrate Whoopie "Pi" Day this Friday!
Pi Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant. Pi Day is observed on March 14, which just happens to be the 3rd month, since 3, 1, and 4 are the first three significant figures of π, and was first celebrated in the United States.
Celebrations often involve eating pie or holding pi recitation competitions, or in the case of Maine, either pizza shops will have a special, or in this case, delcious Whoopie Pies.
Box of Maine located at 34 Abbott Street in Brewer, will host a Free Whoopie "Pi" Day! Al you have to do is stop by the store in person, between 9am-pm, and grab yourself a free one.
They will also will be doing some Moxie sampling, and giving away some sweet Maine made goods.
In addition to a complimentary whoopie pie, 10% of all of their Whoopie Pie Sales for the month of March, will be donated to the Rand May Foundation for Children and Families.
We are known most famously for lobster of course, but no trip to Maine is complete without sampling our favorite desert, the whoopie pie! It's so popular that people take a trip every June to check out the Whoopie Pie Festival, held in Dover Foxcroft.
