Free Streaming of Bangor Symphony Orchestra Shows Available for All Maine Students
Announced on Tuesday, the Bangor Symphony Orchestra is offering free admission from the comfort of the classroom. Due to the support of Northern Light Health, Bangor's premiere musical organization will be able to share all of this upcoming season's concerts for free to Maine schools.
This season the Bangor Symphony Orchestra has already begun performing and had a show in November of Beethoven's 8th on cello, conducted by Lucas Richman and performed by cellist Mark Kosower.

Later this season, the BSO is planning on many performances throughout the next several months. This season we will be looking forward to live performances including:
- a festive 'Winter Holiday Pops' concert on December 18th at 7 PM, complete with classic carols, a Sugar Plum Fairy and Santa Claus.
- 'Revolutionaries: Mozart/Saint-Georges' on January 30 at 3 PM
- a world-premiere by composer Jessica Meyer 'From Firebird to the Future' on March 6th at 3 PM includes mountain dulcimer by Pam Weeks
- 'The Warming Sea', the headlining event of the 2022 Maine Science Festival. It will be another world premiere conducted by Lucas Richman and special BSO performance on March 19th at 7 PM. The evening will combine art and science looking at climate change happening right here in the State of Maine.
- 'A Grande Finale' on April 10th at 3 PM with an evening of music that includes Dvorak, Beethoven and Borodin performed by Italian pianist Roberto Plano.
Educators can take advantage of this new offering by registering on the Bangor Symphony Orchestra website. Educators need to fill out a simple online form to make the music available for streaming to students K - 12 in the State of Maine. The form asks for information including the teacher's name, school name, the classroom grades that the teacher tends to, and an email address for the teacher.
Educators and parents can find out more about this free offering by visiting the Bangor Symphony Orchestra website.
