In 2020, this most unusal, and bizare of years, people in our community need our help more than ever. COVID-19 has affected so many of us in so many different ways, but one simple gesture can make a huge diffrence.

This Friday, September 18th, from 8am-2pm, The United Way of Maine will begin their 2020 campaign kickoff, and attempt to set a new collection record, when they set up a drive-thru food drive. It takes place in the parking lot at the Good Shepard Food Bank, located at 11 Penobscot Meadow Drive in Hampden. The weather looks decent, with partly cloudy skies and a high of about 60 degrees, so it's a perfect time to stop by and give what you can.

The United Ways of Maine are collaborating on a statewide food drive, with the mission to collect the most food on record in the state of Maine! It's so simple for you to be a part of this exciting event. It's a quick and easy way to give back to those in need. As we approach the holiday season, this becomes an even more important issue.

As far as social distancing concerns go, the drive-thru aspect of this food drive event will minimize exposure, so you can safely pull up and drop off your food donation.
