The Downtown Bangor Sidewalk Art Festival Will Return Summer 2022
Downtown Bangor is bringing back the Downtown Bangor Sidewalk Art Festival. After a two-year hiatus, the second event since its inception will take place in the summer.
Art will line the streets of Downtown Bangor once again on Saturday, July 9th for a great summertime art event.
Expect demonstrations, food vendors, live art working in progress, and a kids area. Artists will line the streets of downtown starting at the Bangor Public Library on Harlow Street up to the location of the Bangor Arts Exchange on Exchange Street.
There are many art studios in Downtown that will open up their doors for this event, too. So, you'll be able to walk the space where artists actually create and see the art behind the walls of Downtown.
Also by this time, you'll also be able to check out the newly installed wheat paste murals that will be put around the Downtown area. This is done annually and you can check out last years' installations in the gallery after this article.
The day will also have free parking at Abbott Square across from the Bangor Public Library
Artists Wanted for the Downtown Bangor Art Festival
Artists can apply to be a part of the festival by visiting the event's website page on the Downtown Bangor Partnership website. There, artists will need to fill out an application by filling it out online or printing it and mailing it out.
Artists will be allowed space in parking spaces on streets that will be covered with tents.
A Juried Art Show
Artists that apply to be judged at the show will be judged by a specially curated group of individuals including artists and Downtown Bangor business owners. Art will be judged on a few different aspects, including quality, versatility, skill, and design.
If you would like to volunteer or be a food vendor for this year's Downtown Bangor Sidewalk Art Festival, check out the Downtown Bangor Partnership website page about the event. Stay up to date with the event with the Downtown Bangor Facebook event page 'Sidewalk Art Festival'.
