Door-Dash To Deliver Girl Scout Cookies This Year-But Not Here In Maine…Yet
Like many folks, I've been known to enjoy a Girl Scout cookie or two. And that's why, when I was going through articles online, one from Tinybeans.com caught my attention. It said that The Girl Scouts were partnering this year with the popular delivery service, Door Dash so that people could place their orders and get their favorite cookies delivered straight to their homes and offices, on-demand!
Naturally, I wanted to know more, so I reached out to our local Girl Scouts of America Council in Maine, and found out that's NOT going to be the case in our state...yet.

According to Jen Harris from Girl Scouts Customer Care, Girl Scouts USA is indeed partnering with Door Dash, but they're rolling out the delivery service on a trial basis, in larger cities like New York and Boston, to see how the program works this first year.
She did say, however, that the wait to order those cookies will not be a long one, as in just a couple of weeks, Girl Scouts should be making the rounds with their sign-up sheets.
"So in Maine, we're going to start on February 1st and that you can order online or girls will be out, selling them individually. The troops will have them or people will have them in their workplace, selling them for their daughters."
"And then our booth sales will go from April 1st to April 30th, and that's at grocery stores and in front of businesses like we would traditionally do."
Laura Genese, Marketing and Communications Director with Girl Scouts of Maine, said with the Girl Scouts online order process has two options; one for direct ship to your location, and the other ships to the Girl Scouts so they can deliver them in person.
Genese says the other exciting bit of news is that there's also a new cookie flavor to choose from this year.
According to GirlScouts.org, along with traditional choices such as "Caramel deLites® | Samoas®", "Peanut Butter Patties® | Tagalongs®" and "Thin Mints®", folks can now place their order for "Adventurefuls™", which are officially described as:
"Indulgent brownie-inspired cookies topped with caramel flavored crème with a hint of sea salt."
So while we might not have the option to get our cookies on demand here in Maine, yet, we do have another flavor option, and that's alright by me.
