The holiday season will be here before you know it!

It might seem a bit premature to be thinking ahead to Christmas, but once we get past Thanksgiving, it kicks into high gear. And of course, the proper decorations are a must.

On Saturday, November 19th from 9am-11am, it’s time to gather at 1 Hammond Street in Downtown Bangor, to help the Queen City get into the Christmas spirit.

With winter fast approaching, it's time to transition from flower blossoms to winter lights and garland. Come help install winter lights and deck flower boxes with evergreen bows so that Downtown Bangor looks brighter, merrier, and more festive for those cold, cold months that are coming soon.

The plan is for people to meet in the Kendusekag Parkway by the Hannibal Hamlin Statue off Hammond Street that Saturday morning.

To sign up to volunteer, you can do so with this form

There are three tasks in all:
1 Decorating bridge flower boxes with evergreen bows
2 Hanging new string lights in the parkway
3 Plugging in lights on lamp poles, throughout downtown.

If you feel comfortable on a step ladder and have access to an 8-footer, they ask that you please bring it. They will also have plenty of jobs for folks on the ground.

If you have a business that would like to sponsor the winter lights in Downtown this year, please visit their sponsorship guide

Or email Info@DowntownBangor.com.

The Downtown Bangor Beautification Committee looks forward to seeing you on Saturday, November 19th from 9am-11am!
