Daughtry is a no-go in Portland.

A show that would have taken place this spring has been scrapped. Daughtry was to perform at the State Theatre in Portland Aug. 26. The show was moved to April 7, 2021. Now it has been canceled.

Fans with tickets will get a refund at point of purchase.

The good news: Daughtry makes frequent tour stops in Maine. Hopefully when tours get back on the road he'll return. The American Idol alum was last in Bangor back in 2017, opening for Nickleback. Chris previously headlined a show in Bangor back in 2013, with 3 Doors Down, and Halestorm.

The Darling's Waterfront Pavilion 2021 season may feature rescheduled shows from Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett, and Kiss. With the Bangor waterfront venue resembling a gravel pit currently, summer could be spent making updates to the pavilion.

Back in October, a video by Waterfront Concerts shows the venue has big plans for transforming the pavilion into a premiere concert facility; with luxurious seating options for fans. A computer rendering shows more infrastructure improvements, with concrete groundwork to build-up the multiple seated sections of the venue and entrances. The new lawn area features a concession building, and two pillars equipped with screens and speakers.

We're unsure of when these massive upgrades will begin construction. However, the Darling's Waterfront Pavilion Facebook page shared images of the venue upgrades saying "When we come back and can have concerts again, things may look a bit different..."
