If you needed confirmation of the Farmer's Almanac prediction of a early winter that will be freezing, frigid and frosty, you only had to look as far as Belfast on Monday, September 2, where "Passy Pete" predicted an early winter.

Passy Pete selected one of two scrolls which read in part:

"It's in your best interests to collect your coats, tell your sister to return the ones you lent her, tell Cappy the Harbormaster to remove the boats, and everyone get ready for winter."

Pete was returned to the Bay after his dire forecast. This is the fifth year that he's predicted the weather, and so far, he's been four out of four. And in case you're wondering, "Passy" is short for Passagassawakeag.
