Brewer Woman Gets Jail Time For Striking Pokemon Go Player With Car
A 37-year-old Brewer woman who police say intentionally struck a man playing Pokemon Go with her car was sentenced Friday at the Penobscot Judicial Center.
Jeannie Chapman was indicted on charges of aggravated assault and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.
As part of a plea agreement, Chapman was sentenced Friday to three years in prison with all but 60 days suspended.
Chapman's vehicle struck the 37-year-old victim in the crosswalk at Franklin and Hammond streets in Bangor on July 24. She then left the scene in her car.
The victim called the sentence a "slap on the wrist," and said he now suffers from PTSD and nerve damage in his knee and hip.
