Here's everything you need to know about this year's Spring Cleanup for Brewer residents which also includes changes due to the pandemic.

Spring Clean-Up will run May 4th - May 22nd and be based on location as to when crews will be by to take your stuff.  The city asks that residents keep their distance from cleaning crews and to maintain social distancing.

 

MAY 4 - MAY 8

Holyoke Street, Chamberlain Street and those streets north and east of Chamberlain St. to the Eddington town line, including Eastern Ave. and all streets off of Eastern Ave. and Pierce Road.
MAY 11 - MAY 15

All streets in between Holyoke and Grove Street, including; State St., Wilson St., South Main, Green Point Road, Park Ave. East and West, Sunset, Starlight, Calvin Ct., Country Way and all roads off of Wilson Street.

MAY 18 - MAY 22

All streets in between Pendleton St. and Birchwood Blvd. and the Orrington town line, including; South Main, Parkway South, Elmwood, Mann’s Court and Wiswell Road to the Holden town line.

WHAT WILL CREWS COLLECT?
Acceptable materials for disposal in a Construction and Demolition Debris (CDD) landfill.  Here's what these are:

•Bulk Waste - furniture, carpet, mattress, stereo equipment, concrete, asphalt, siding, insulation, roofing, wood waste, sheet rock, toys etc. This material will be buried in the City’s CDD landfill.
•Metals - stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, small metal car and truck parts, and all other miscellaneous metals. This material will be recycled.
•Tires - truck and car tires without rims, only. The tires will be recycled.
•Tree waste - brush, branches, bushes, limbs, etc. This material will be recycled.
•Leaves and yard waste – leaves, small plants and grass clippings in biodegradable bags.

WHAT WILL NOT BE COLLECTED?

Material considered not acceptable for disposal in a CDD landfill will not be collected curbside:

•Herbicides
•Mercury-containing products
•Paints
•Chemicals
•Tires with rims
•Appliances containing freon
•Heavy equipment tires
•Common household trash
•Fuels
•Medical waste
•Batteries
•Automobile Parts
•Engines with oil
•Gas, antifreeze, kerosene, oil or diesel
•Computers & monitors
•Televisions
•Pesticides
•Fluorescent lamps
•Stumps
•Brush from lot clearings, land clearings or other commercial acts
•Any materials not separated as required.
•Food Waste

WHEN TO PUT YOUR STUFF CURBSIDE:
Set out no later than the Thursday prior to your scheduled collection week

 

HOW TO PUT IT CURBSIDE:

Keep all materials separated per the categories listed above.  If you don't, it might not be taken

WILL THE CREWS BE BACK AT A LATER DATE?

No.
