If you are looking for a great way to get the kids outside following a long spring of social distancing and to get some exercise during school vacation this summer, check out this camp being put on by the Bangor Parks and Recreation Department.

Bangor Parks and Rec are putting on a mountain bike camp where kids can bring their bikes and venture through the Bangor City Forest or Essex Woods of Bangor.

The camp will take place daily July 13th to the 17th and feature three different start times for different age groups (8 AM, 10 AM and 12:45 AM) each day for kids of varying ages to enjoy the woods of Bangor.

The Facebook event has the program as a way for kids to get familiar with taking care of their bikes among other things: "Kids will learn fundamental biking skills (safety, riding skills, and bike maintenance) with the overall goal of the camp is to get kids outside biking and enjoying our local trails."

The two age groups include grades 1 -3 and grades 4 - 10 with different sessions breaking up the age groups based on bike skill levels and experience levels.

It is encouraged for you to register your child, which you can do on the Bangor Parks and Rec website. The cost is $50 for a registered child and $60 if not registered.
