A jackknifed tractor trailer has stopped traffic on I-95 northbound in Bangor this morning.

Maine State Police say that, as of 7:00 this morning, no traffic was able to get through on I-95, near the Hammond Street Bridge. Police told us early that it was a jackknifed semi, and now the Bangor Fire Department has posted on its Facebook page that several vehicles are involved in the accident.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area until the scene can be cleared. The interstate is slippery this morning, so police say motorists need to take it slow. Police in Southern Maine are dealing with a similar situation, this morning. A tractor trailer has rolled over on the interstate in Wells, which also has traffic at a standstill.

We'll update this story as more details become available.
