Some Bangor-Area Restaurants Temporarily Close As Pandemic Ramps Back Up

Over the weekend, Bangor experienced restaurants closing temporarily as COVID cases ramp back up in the state of Maine. The Maine CDC is stating that numbers are as high as they were in May earlier this year, prior to mask mandates being lifted.

It seems like a shift has really developed here in the Bangor area in the past week or so that has started to close businesses back down, most noticeably the restaurants in the Bangor area.

Geaghan's in Bangor, Seasons in Bangor, and Mason's Brewing in Brewer all saw closures over the weekend due to staff members being tested for COVID.

The new restaurant, Smoke and Steel BBQ, located on Stillwater Avenue in Bangor, also had to close its doors this weekend due to a positive COVID test among the staff.

On Monday, when most other of the closed restaurants were expected to open back up, Jason's pizza in Brewer announced their closure due to another COVID exposure and a shortage of staff.

In a Bangor Daily News interview released on Monday, Geaghan's explained their situation which was a combination of an abundance of caution for a COVID exposure with staff and short staff due to vacations, caused this long-standing Main Street pub to close this past weekend.
