Bangor Bar’s Brilliant Burn After Epic Drunk-Guy Fail

You never want to be "that guy" -- the one who gets drunk and does something really stupid ... so stupid it makes the news.

But you REALLY don't want to be "that guy" when you allegedly do said stupid thing, under the influence, and then end up on a bar's Facebook page ... especially when the bar in question is Nocturnem Draft Haus in Bangor. Better known to locals as "Nocturnem," this place has not only a reputation for its knowledge and selection of great craft beer, it also has a reputation for employing some pretty witty people.

A recent example of the wit associated with Nocturnem can be seen on their Facebook page.

But let me give you a little back story first, courtesy of an article that showed up in Thursday's Bangor Daily News. The article was titled "Man injured after trying to throw sandwich board through Bangor bar’s window."

It tells the story of a man in his 30s, who allegedly got drunk and became "that guy" as he allegedly tried, unsuccessfully, to throw a the sandwich board that's usually in front of the bar ... you know the one, it has the specials written on it ... through a tempered glass window. (Let us note here that the gentlemen was not a patron of the bar. He was simply someone walking by.)

In what we imagine was a "Here, hold my beer moment" gone wrong, the board bounced off the window and hit the guy in the head, stunning him, and knocking him to the ground.

Long story short, the cops were called and he was taken to a local hospital to be treated ... for his self-inflicted injury.

Being that Bangor is a small town of sorts, and living in the age of social media, word got 'round of what happened and folks started asking questions about the incident on Facebook.

This is where the witty part comes in to play.

Instead of simply issuing a statement about the incident, someone from Nocturnem came up with a fabulous  depiction of the event, ala the 90's video game, Super Double Dragon. And it is nothing short of spectacular. If that wasn't burn enough, one of their Facebook followers actually took that depiction up a notch, and made a GIF out of it!

Moral of the story; if you don't want to end up the butt of a really clever joke online, don't get drunk and do stupid things ... especially outside a place that's a known for employing smart people.
