"Officers located a deceased male in a small field on the east side of the mall. The male has been positively identified and notification has been made to his next of kin.

An autopsy will be performed by the state medical examiner to determine the exact cause of death. While the investigation remains open, the death does not appear suspicious and there is no danger to the public."

The area surrounding 1129 Union Street was packed Thursday morning, with folks prepping for both the impending storm and the upcoming Christmas holiday when the body was found.
