Its been about 15 weeks since most movie theaters in the state were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. As businesses across the state start to slowly open back up, movie theaters are also getting ready to welcome guests again. While most of us have become used to watching movies in our living rooms or bed rooms wearing pajamas, there are some movies -- especially action or sci-fi movies -- that will always be so much cooler up on the big screen.

Well there's finally some good news for movie buffs who have been going through cinema withdrawal; the wait is almost over.

According to a post on its Facebook Page, Bangor Mall Cinemas will be opening their doors Thursday, July 2. They say they will be posting their lineup on their page in the next day or so.

Meanwhile, down the road a bit at Spotlight Cinemas in Orono, its Facebook Page says they'll be opening their doors on Friday, July 3. And they're tentative opening lineup offers some unique opportunities for folks to see some great recent releases as well as some awesome classics on the big screen.

The Jungle Book (2016)
Star Wars: the Force Awakens (2015)
Deadpool (2016)
Ghostbusters (1984)
Jumanji: the Next Level (2019)
Goonies (1985)
Hotel Transylvania (2012)

Spotlight also says that for a limited time, all of the movies listed will be $5. So you could watch The Goonies, on a big screen for about what you would have paid for a movie ticket in the 80s! So cool!

All theaters will have to follow Maine CDC guidelines, which will include physical distancing, wearing face masks (except when eating or drinking) and limiting the number of people per theater.
