A Milbridge Woman Directs The New Diane Keaton Movie ‘Mack & Rita’
Did you know that a new major motion picture was directed by someone from right here in Maine?
Kathryn Aselton was born in Milbridge. She competed in pageants in 1995 and was Miss Maine Teen USA 1995 and first runner-up at Miss Teen USA 1995. She graduated from Narraguagus High School in Harrington. She then attended Boston University School of Communications for two years before moving to Los Angeles to act.

Kathryn also has a part in the excellent Apple TV hit, “The Morning Show”, where she plays the fiancee of Chip, who also happens to be her real-life husband, Mark Duplass.
She has also appeared on "The Office," "The League," "Legion," and "Curb Your Enthusiasm."
Now playing at Bangor Mall Cinemas, “Mack & Rita” tells the story of 30-year-old self-proclaimed homebody Mack Martin, who reluctantly joins a Palm Springs bachelorette trip for her best friend Carla, her inner 70-year-old is released…literally. The frustrated writer and influencer magically transforms into her future self: "Aunt Rita.”
The film stars Academy Award-winning icon, Diane Keaton, and Elizabeth Lail, who you might remember as Beck, in Season 1 of the addictive Netflix show "You."
