Gunmetal Car Meets and Mainely Money Pitts are teaming up to present a car show to help benefit "the Somerset Humane Society and their Four Legged Friends."

"Cars and Canines" will be held Sunday August 8th, in the Richard Carrier Trucking Lot in Skowhegan. (That's 46 Industrial Park Road, if you're using a GPS.)

Organizers says there will be food trucks, music and cool cars, among other things, and that it's a family friendly event.

"Everyone is welcome. Cars, trucks, bikes and anything in between. No entry fee required."

They're hoping for a big turn out of both cars and people!

The event will go on from 12-4PM.

According to their website, the Somerset Humane Society is:

"a no-kill shelter located in Skowhegan, Maine that relies primarily on private donors to fund our programs and services. We do not receive any federal tax money and we are not affiliated with any other humane organization in the United States."

All the proceeds raised at the "Cars and Canines" event will go directly to help the shelter.

The Somerset Humane Society is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, by appointment only & Thursday 1PM-4PM and  Friday& Saturday from 1PM-5PM.
