Man, 87, Dies After Jumping From Penobscot Narrows Bridge
A man from southern Maine died Sunday after jumping off the Penobscot Narrows Bridge, police said.
Waldo County Sheriff Jeff Trafton told the Ellsworth American “It’s a confirmed suicide.”
The incident was reported at 3:28 p.m.
The man's body was located at 5:05 p.m. by the Maine Marine Patrol.
The U.S. Coast Guard, Prospect Fire Department, Stockton Springs Police Department and deputies from Waldo County responded to the scene after the incident was reported.
