As 2019 begins, eventually we will climb out of the doldrums of a cold winter and that's when the fun starts in Maine. If you are looking to really get out and experience our beautiful state, we came up with a list of 5 things that every Mainer should give a try.

    Maine Whoope Pie Festival

    Every year in Dover-Foxcroft they throw a great party with every type of Whoopie Pie flavor you can imagine, plus games, live music and so much more. This year the event will take place on Saturday, June 22nd. The Z has been to the last 4, and we can't wait to go back!

    Waterfront Concerts

    We have been blessed with some of the biggest names in music on the Bangor Waterfront. Nothing is more fun on a hot summer night when there is a great show in town. With Ozzy, Phish, Florida-Georgia-Line already announced, it's shaping up to be another great season of concerts

    Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race

    Saturday, April 20th will mark the 53rd year of this race. It's the largest paddling event in New England and one of the largest in the country.

    Hosted by the Bangor Dept. of Parks & Recreation, the 16.5 mile race begins in the Town of Kenduskeag and ends near the confluence of the Penobscot River in downtown Bangor.

    Even if you don't want to participate in the race, it sure it a lot of fun to watch in person.

    American Folk Fesitval

    This yearly event on the Bangor Waterfront brings some of those most incredible music from all over the globe. It's great people watching, and the food is something that should not be missed! This year it takes place on August 23rd, 24th, and 25th
