1995 - Alanis Morrissette
The Canadian songstress writes the song "Ironic", with producer Glen Ballad, for soon-to-be pivotal album Jagged Little Pill.
1997 - Hanson
The Hanson brothers hit number on the Billboard Hot 100 with MMMBop after reaching number 2 the week prior.
2000 - Eminem
The second album on a major label by Detroit rapper Eminem is the fastest selling rap album. It sells 1.76 million copies in its first week.
2004 - Usher
The smooth singer and dancer is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Burn". But he's not done with being #1 quite yet in this decade...
2010 - Usher
He's back... now with mega-producer, artist and everything-else-guy WILL.I.AM. Usher is now #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "OMG". The song is so popular it becomes the MTV News' #1 song of the year.
2014 - 50 Cent
The rapper has a little fun while everybody watches in horror as he throws the first pitch at a Mets game. It wasn't brag worthy.
2018 - Childish Gambino
Donald Glover, AKA Childish Gambino, is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with a song and video that addresses gun violence and race tensions in America.
