Zoe’s Human Died & She Now Needs A New Forever Home
Our SPCA of Hancock County Pet of the Week just experienced the loss of the only person that she had ever really known.
Beautiful long-haired Zoe is a cat of the Torti breed who has been at the SPCA of Hancock County for a few months now, and she wonders why. You see she had spent all of her seven years in one home with one owner, until her human passed away.
Thankfully, neighbors took notice of poor Zoe and her siblings, who at that time had been outside fending for themselves for a few weeks. As soon as the neighbors possibly could, they trapped Zoe and her siblings and sent them straight to a stray holding facility. After having to be moved from facility to facility and from person to person she finally found her way to the fine folks at the SPCA of Hancock County.

This beautiful lady with the very long luscious whiskers and bight olive-green eyes is now awaiting her new and hopefully last forever home.
Zoe is good with cats but does not like the company of dogs! She likes to cuddle and lay outside in the catio here at the shelter. She would be a great mouser despite her age, as she loves to play with toys on a wand endlessly! The staff are allowing Zoe to be adopted as an indoor-outdoor cat because of her history of being allowed outdoors.
Make an appointment to see this girl and see if she's the one for you.
The SPCA of Hancock County serves Ellsworth, Mount Desert Island and beyond, and is still operating by appointment-only for the safety of the animals, as well as visitors and staff. If you are looking to adopt, please check their website where they have an adoption application and the available animals listed. For general inquiries, please call them at 207-667-8088, email info@spcahancockcounty.org, or send them a Facebook message. The shelter is located on Route 3 in Trenton.
