With Veteran’s Day coming up on Wednesday, Mainers and Americans are focused on Veterans, past and present who sacrifice so much for us and our country.  Of course, we thank each and every man and woman for their service.

The focus will shift very shortly to another undertaking that involves the military. Wreaths Across America is planning their annual trek to lay wreaths on the graves in Arlington National Cemetery. If you’ve ever been fortunate enough to visit Arlington National Cemetery you know how moving of an experience that is. Headstone after headstone lined up for as far as the eye can see. It’s a very moving experience. If you have ever been there near Christmas it’s even more spectacular with all the Christmas wreaths on the graves.

Wreaths Across America needs donations to make this possible and for just $15 you can sponsor a wreath. You can even specify if you’d like it laid on a particular soldier’s graves.

It’s not just Arlington Cemetery where wreaths are laid. There are many other options to help out financially are available for this great charity, Wreaths Across America, both here in Maine and all over our great land.
