Check out the video on Facebook of a creature found in Naples, Maine and prepare to get the heebie jeebies.  The post was shared to a Facebook group called 'Maine Foragers' and got quite a bit of attention.

People were mystified by it's existence.

Are you serious?  There's something called a 'Monkey Slug'? But, wait, it has another name, too.

Well, 'hagmoth' or 'monkey slug', either way, it's a creepy little bug.

This caterpillar can be found on the east coast of the United States, where Maine and Quebec tops the northern edge of the caterpillar's habitat range.  Be careful if you see one, though, because some of those hairs are stinging hairs.

Have you seen one of these around?  For more information about the 'Hag Moth' or the 'Monkey Slug' check out Butterflies and Moths dot org.
