Thursday, October 28 is the big day for the long-awaited Chick-fil-A restaurant at Westbrook's Rock Row and Westbrook police are pretty much saying it's going to be a madhouse without saying it's going to be a madhouse.

The Rock Row Chick-fil-A is only the second franchise of the popular chicken fast-food restaurant in Maine and the only one in Southern Maine, so people have been anxious for its opening.

Thursday is that day and based on a post on the Westbrook Police Department's Facebook page, they are planning on it being very busy at Rock Row and the surrounding area.

Because people love their chicken, we are anticipating heavy traffic for the next couple of weeks in the Rock Row area, in particular Main Street and Larrabee Road. We are asking that everyone please be patient. You will get your chicken. They won't sell out. They have plenty on site. Have a good playlist selected, and listen to some good tunes instead of honking your horn incessantly - it won't make the line go any faster.

So if you're planning to go try some Chick-fil-A on opening day, be prepared for long lines. Police ask that you don't block intersections, follow the signs and officers' directions, and do not cut in the lines. As they said, there will be enough chicken for everyone.

They end their post with the perfect hashtag for a grand opening like this: #winnerwinnerchickendinner.
