We've been having a blast following the West Cove Ice Racing Facebook page this winter. We all love to bitch and complain about how the weather sucks. But, it's actually not as bad as we think when we find the right way to play.

There really are so many ways to stay entertained during the cold, snow-covered months. We're all familiar with the traditional stuff to do like skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, ice skating, ice fishing, etc.

Then there's the folks upta Greenville. They look like they know how to have more Maine winter fun than most of us.

The people of the Moosehead region, without a doubt kick, the excitement up into high gear. When the ice is solid and thick enough, Saturdays are ice racing days.

Recently (this past weekend, we think), they got all fancy on us right after the engines fired up. A snow white limousine set the pace at the start of the race.

While it might true that we Mainers are hicks from the sticks that love to watch fast cars rippin' it hard with chains on their tires out on the frozen lake, we sure know how to be elegant about it.

If this video has you all pumped up to go see the races in person, make sure to follow the West Cove Ice Racing Facebook page for updates. The warm-up that we're experiencing this week could obviously get in the way.

The West Cove Ice Racing officials let us know that they may happen "Possibly Saturday at noon but please check back Friday we’ll be posting either a yes or no."
