A video released Saturday shows a Maine State Police Trooper repeatedly kneeing and slapping a suspect while attempting to place him under arrest, but does it show excessive force?

We're not exactly sure what's going on in the video (although we've asked Maine State Police for details on the arrest), but it appears the trooper is responding to a domestic abuse call in York County. It appears the suspect, apparently named Dennis, is resisting arrest, claiming he's done nothing wrong.

The trooper then knees the man several times in the back of the leg and slaps him several times in the back of the head in an unsuccessful attempt to make him comply. The man only submits to arrest after the trooper uses pepper spray.

Warning: The video contains NSFW language (and plenty of it.)

Do you think the trooper used too much force? Not enough? The appropriate amount?
