Two men face charges after police allegedly found them rummaging through a car on Buck Street early Sunday morning.

Shaun Ross, 34, of Bangor and Justice Kneeland, 20, a transient, were arrested and charged with burglary to a motor vehicle and theft.

An officer on routine patrol discovered the men rummaging through a car in a driveway. Although the men told police they knew the owner of the car, a man named "Jake," the officer determined it belonged to a female visiting the residence.

Police also found property belonging to the car's owner in the possession of one of the men. Police also found items they believe came from other car burglaries in the area.

Ross was also charged with unlawful possession of drugs, and Kneeland was charged with violation of conditions of release. Both men were taken to the Penobscot County Jail.

The Bangor Police Department urged everyone to lock the doors of vehicles and residences.
