So far the records for Bangor's Labor Day 5 Mile Road Race have gone unbroken for several years. Tracy Guerrette set the women's running an even 29 minutes in 2017. And five years before that, Louie Lucini did it in 25.02.

Could this be the year those records are broken? There's only one way to find out, and that's to enter!

Bangor Parks and Rec is accepting registrations online and recommends that if you want a shirt, you sign up by Monday. You can click here for that link. If you register early, you'll also avoid the extra $10 charge, and get in for $35 instead of $45.

The race will take place Monday September 6th, kicking off from the starting point out by the overpass, beyond the Parks and Rec Building on Main St. at 9AM.

This year's route will be a little different than it's been in the past, due to construction going on out by Geaghan's.

The route starts just beyond the Bangor Parks & Rec Building on Main St. going down  by Bangor Savings Bank on Front St, to Washington St. to Exchange St. to Harlow. to Valley Ave, up the footpath on Valley Ave, to Holland St. to Wiley, left onto Union, right on West Broadway, left on Buck and then Right on Main, finishing back at the Parks and Rec building.

There will be prizes for the top 3 places in each age category, men and women.

Good luck!
